ENDEAVOUR PSYCHOLOGY

Courage. Compassion. Change.

Join the Endeavour Psychology team AS AN EMPLOYEE OR CONTRACTOR

We may not be the right practice for every psychologist. But we may be the right one for you.

Endeavour Psychology is a deliberately small, values-led private practice in Geelong West. We are not built around volume, rapid throughput, or clinician invisibility. We are built around thoughtful clinical work, professional steadiness, and the belief that how therapy is practised matters.

Many psychologists come to us after realising something important: They enjoy therapy, but not the conditions they are practising under.

If you are looking for a practice where your work feels solely reduced to numbers, KPIs, or endless diary pressure, Endeavour Psychology is not for you. If, however, you are looking for a practice where clinical judgement, ethical care, and professional maturity are taken seriously, you may just have found your professional home.

What it is like to work at Endeavour Psychology

Our clinicians work with clients who are engaged, reflective, and seeking depth rather than quick fixes. Most clients attend with Mental Health Treatment Plans through long-standing GP referral relationships. We do not bulk bill. We are selective about third-party work. We prioritise continuity, containment, and clinical integrity.

Workloads are intentionally capped. Sessions are not stacked. Cancellations are managed firmly and respectfully. Administrative systems are established and handled by an experienced on-site team so that your time and attention stay where they belong: In the therapy room.

The physical environment matters to us. Our practice is located in a heritage-listed building near Pakington Street, including on-site car parking. We work in calm, character-filled rooms with sit-stand desks, quality furnishings, and thoughtful layouts that protect client privacy, including separate entry and exit points. Dedicated staff spaces are also part of the environment, including a separate staff room and a professional library. Our spaces are designed to support genuine presence rather than performance.

Clinical orientation and support

Endeavour Psychology has a strong reputation for grief-informed and trauma-aware work, alongside neurodivergence, attachment concerns, anxiety, perfectionism, identity, and complex life transitions. We work with different modalities, including CBT, ACT, IPT, EMDR, and narrative therapy. We work ethically, reflectively, and with genuine care.

Supervision and professional development are taken seriously. The practice is led by Dr Lisa Burke, Clinical Psychologist, internationally recognised grief practitioner, and Fellow in Thanatology. PsyBA Board Approved Supervision is available for registrars and early-career psychologists, as well as thoughtful consultation for experienced clinicians who value depth and reflection in their work.

Group programs are welcomed where there is genuine interest and clinical rationale. Past offerings have included evidence-based groups incorporating CBT, movement-based approaches, and creative modalities.

Who tends to thrive here

Professionals who feel at home at Endeavour Psychology tend to:

  • Be comfortable working with well-established processes, rather than ad-hoc approaches.
  • Like clear systems and procedures that reduce cognitive load and allow therapy to be practised with confidence.
  • Appreciate autonomy but do not want to work in isolation.
  • Value both the relational and the structural aspects of practice.
  • Enjoy being part of a small team where people are respectful, supportive, and drama-free.

You may be early in your career and seeking a grounded, supportive environment to consolidate your professional identity. You may be experienced and ready to find a space that fits. All are welcome.

Practical details

We are open to part-time or full-time arrangements. Employee and contractor models can be discussed. Remuneration is above award and reflects experience, contribution, and engagement. Full administrative support is provided on site.

Applicants must hold AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, or be on an approved pathway toward registration, with eligibility for a Medicare provider number. Appropriate insurances and Working With Children checks are required.

A final note

This role is about practising psychology with care, intention, and professional self-respect. If that resonates, we would be glad to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your interests and preferred working days.
